Purchased this for my granddaughter. She was so excited to receive it. She is 7 1/2 and a horse lover. Her brother has his games and gets her to play with him but she isn't really thrilled with the "boy" games. When she first put the game in, she was a little frustrated trying to learn all the moves and actions, but was still enjoying the life like graphics and I got a big hug several times, expressing her appreciation to finally have a game just for her! Even her brother is enjoying this game! The graphics are very nice and enough of a challenge to give a good sense of accomplishment when mastered for the younger video game player, without being too frustrating. I would recommend this game for any young game player, especially if they have a love of horses!
This is a cute game but there is too much you have to accomplish to earn your riding time that is not related to horsemanship. One minute you're jumping fences and the next you're stuck in a library setting, looking for something hidden that you must find before being able to ride again. I thought the Barbie's Horse Adventures and Lucinda's Equestrian Challenge were much more enjoyable. If a gaming company could make a horse game where you can be the horse like you can be the dolphin in Echo, that would be a hit!
I bought this for my eight year old grandaughter and am less then impressed. I tried it and found it to be tedious within the first 10 minutes, it's set more like a mystery then anything to do with horses, she became bored with it rather quickly because according to her there were more "chores and challenges" then riding. The Barbie Horse Adventures are much more enjoyable for her an others in her age group in my opinion.
